Given that Nx Witness and Digital Watchdog Spectrum are both Network Optix products, configuration of systems can be migrated from one to the other.
For example, a Nx Witness system that I wish to migrate over to DW Spectrum:
Navigate to the System Administration menu by right clicking on the system name at the top of the device list:
Under the General tab, locate and click on "Create Backup..."
Navigate to a desired directory and give the backup a file name, then press "OK":
System administrators will need to enter in their password to allow this backup to proceed:
A window with a progress bar will appear to show backup status. Once complete you will be presented with a window that states completion and shows location of the backup on the client PC:
On the DW Spectrum server, create a new system and navigate to the same System Administration menu:
Click on "Restore from Backup...":
Navigate to the directory where the Nx Witness backup file is located and select it, then click "OK":
Confirm the restoration by clicking "OK":
System administrators will need to enter their password to allow this restoration to proceed:
A progress bar will appear and then a confirmation message that the restoration has been completed. Additionally the server will restart to load up with the new configuration:
Once the servers comes back online, you will see the device list populated with servers/devices/users/layouts/etc.:
All that needs to occur now is that the devices need to be transferred across to the new server, simply by click and drag. You can delete the old server once the devices have been moved across:
The only thing left to do is apply new DW licences to the server instead of the Nx Witness licences as they will not transfer across:
And voila, your system has been migrated:
